Suryakumar surpasses MS Dhoni in India’s T20I batter rankings

After his quick-fire 47 off 34 balls in the T20I against New Zealand on Friday, Suryakumar Yadav has surpassed legendary captain MS Dhoni and former cricketer Suresh Raina to become the fifth highest scorer for India in the T20I format.

Suryakumar has 1,625 runs in 44 innings so far, averaging just over 46. On the other hand, Dhoni had finished his T20I career with 1,617 runs in 98 matches while Raina had 1,605 runs in 78 games.

Suryakumar currently tops the batter rankings in the T20I format and was named ICC men’s T20I cricketer of the year 2022 earlier this week.
