Setting an example for his fraternity members and all the others to follow, Rajinikanth the superstar from South, was honoured in Chennai by the Income Tax Department for paying his taxes on a regular basis.
The occasion was the celebration of Income Tax Day on July 24.
The actor’s daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, took to Instagram and shared the news with the lakhs of his fans.
She wrote: "Proud daughter of a high and prompt taxpayer. Many thanks to the #incometaxdepartment of Tamilnadu and Puducherry for honouring appa on #incometaxday2022 #onbehalfofmyfather.”
She added some images of the event which showed her receiving the samman patra on behalf of her father.
The moment the news was flashed, Rajinikanth’s fans congratulated their star. One wrote: "Proud to be thalaivar fan”, while many referred to him as "a responsible citizen.”
Rajinikanth has teamed up for a new film titled “Jailer” with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar which also stars Shivrajkumar, a Kannada actor in a key role.
It is also reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may be playing the female lead.
