The South Central Railway under the one station one product project of the Union Government has launched sale of millet-based food and snacks in special stalls in Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Begumpet stations.
These special stalls will help in providing a fillip to the sale of millet-based products.
In Secunderabad station on platform No.10 M/s. Nine Nutz, a micro start-up, is selling millet-based sweets and snacks while at Begumpet M/s. Ancient Foods again a micro start-up is selling millet chikkis on platform No.2.
At Hyderabad station M/s. Ancient Foods is offering millet-based breakfast mixes and snacks to passengers.
These start-ups have been chosen from a list provided by the Union Ministry of Agriculture.
At all the three stations, the start-ups have been receiving very good and positive responses as their sales are increasing daily. Besides making people aware about their products, it has also resulted in these entities getting bulk orders.

ese stations serve the purpose of being both tasteful and healthy.
For centuries millets have been an integral part of people’s diet and it not only has several health benefits but is also ideal for the environment as it requires low water for cultivation.
The United Nations with the objective of creating awareness and increasing production and consumption of millets, has declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets.
