Sachin Tendulkar moves to hospital in fight with Covid-19

<p>
India’s cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Friday confirmed that he has been admitted to hospital as a precautionary measure. Sachin had tested positive for Covid-19 on March 27 and had been in home quarantine.</p>
<p>
The 47-year-old took to twitter to announce the development on Friday.</p>
<p>
"Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone," Tendulkar tweeted.</p>
<p>
He also took the opportunity to, “Wish all Indians and my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup win. “</p>
<p>
Tendulkar had said on Saturday (March 27)  that he had contracted Covid-19 and has mild symptoms as infections continued to surge in country.</p>
<p>
Tendulkar had hung up his boots in 2013 after scoring a record 100 international centuries in a trail blazing 24-year career.</p>
<p>
“I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure Covid is kept at bay. However, I have tested positive today following mild symptoms,” Tendulkar had said at the time.</p>
<p>
“All others at home have tested negative. I have quarantined myself at home and I am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors.”</p>
<p>
Tendulkar lives in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra which has been the hardest hit state in the second Covid-19 wave.</p>
