To make the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence a special and a public event, the Government of India has launched several programmes. One such event – Yuva Pratibha – Painting Talent Hunt — will be launched on May 11 by MyGov in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Culture under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The objective of this contest is to promote India’s rich heritage and culture at the grassroots level on a national scale by identifying and recognising the new art talent in various painting styles.

Open to all the citizens of the country, the themes for this talent hunt are Heritage and Cultural; Valour and Patriotism; Public Heroes and Leaders; and Nature and Environment.

The paintings must be submitted on the MyGov portal and entries submitted through any other mode will not be considered for evaluation. The participants need to submit their entry in JPG/JPEG/PNG/PDF format. The size of the painting should be not less than two feet by one-and-a-half feet that is 24 inches x 18 inches.

The painting should be made in one of the prescribed mediums including water, oil and acrylic colours.

The competition will be open for a period of one and half months.

The winner of the first prize in the contest will receive Rs.1 lakh along with a trophy and a certificate. Second and third prize winners will receive Rs.75,000 and Rs.50,000 respectively along with a trophy and certificate for each person.

Apart from this the three winners will be mentored for a period of one month with a mentorship stipend.
