Netflix on Tuesday cut prices of all its four subscription plans in India in an attempt to attract more customers and expand its market share.
The entertainment streaming service reduced the price of its basic plan, that allows customers access to content on any one device including television, by 60% from Rs 499 to Rs 199. The price of the mobile-only monthly plan in HD quality has been reduced to Rs 149 from Rs 199.
The tariff for the premium plan, which allows access to four different devices at the same time, has been cut to Rs 649 (from Rs 799) and the standard plan, which allows access to two, to Rs 499 (from Rs 649).
Netflix is the most expensive streaming service for Indian viewers and with the new plans, the American giant appears to have brought its prices in line with other streaming services in the country.
