Doctors in Mumbai provided a relief to a woman when they operated upon her and removed 2.5 kg cyst
Providing great relief to a patient, doctors in Mumbai removed a giant cyst – weighing 2.5 kg and the size of a football — from her uterus. The 48-year-old woman had been experiencing sudden bloating and heaviness in her abdomen and it was after ultrasonography did the doctors realise that she had 25×25 cm cystic mass with multiple uterine fibroids.
Talking to the media the patient said: “I was shocked when I came to know about the diagnosis of the huge cyst and multiple fibroids. They were growing in my body for the last four months while I didn’t have any idea about it. There was abdominal distress, I looked bloated and avoided stepping out of the house.”
Having tried all kinds of remedies including herbal tea, exercising and consuming probiotics, the patient reached Wockhardt Hospitals where Dr Rajashri Tayshete Bhasale, consultant gynaecologist and obstetrician, laparoscopic surgeon, examined her. It was then that the existence of the huge cystic mass came to be known.
She was operated upon with the smallest possible incision and the mass was removed intact and now she is relieved and happy and all set to resume teaching.
