Mumbai cops succeed in nabbing an elusive culprit by disguising as security guard and delivery man

In what seems to be a script lifted straight from a Bollywood film, the police officials of Mumbai’s VB Nagar police station disguised themselves more than once to catch a chain snatcher who had committed several crimes but remained elusive.

The 27-year-old snatcher whose name is Faisal Ali Yusuf Ali Sheikh had a few days ago snatched a gold chain from a woman in Kurla. Following this incident, the police decided to form a team to catch the culprit. They went through the CCTV footage of the area to get hold of clues about Sheikh.

Rajesh Pawar, the Senior Inspector of VB Nagar police station said that his team had to don many guises to arrest the accused, who is a history sheeter.

Sharing details, the police official said: "We found that he had parked his motorcycle near an ATM kiosk. In order to not arouse suspicion, a VB Nagar policeman wore the uniform of a security guard and stood there to nab Sheikh when he came back for the two-wheeler.”

Pawar giving more information about the arrest of the culprit revealed: "Later, we found out he stays in Iraniwadi on LBS Road. One of our personnel entered the locality as a food app delivery man and managed to corner Sheikh. His associates tried to stop our team but fled when personnel from two other police stations came to the spot as back-up. Sheikh was arrested.”
