A video of a five-year-old girl with her hands and legs tied and struggling under the scorching sun on the hot roof of a house in Delhi has gone viral on social media.

The child can be heard screaming in pain as the searing heat singes her skin.
An investigation by Delhi Police revealed that the mother of the child had punished her for not completing her school homework.
The mother, a resident of the Khajuri Khas area in the national capital, told the police that she had punished her daughter for five to seven minutes for not completing her homework and later she brought the child down.
The girl’s father is a tailor, who said the mother had realised she had made a mistake and had deeply repented having punished the child. The incident took place on June 3.
