Driven by his fervent passion for cars, a mathematics teacher from Kashmir made a solar-powered four-wheeler, all by himself!

Meet Bilal Ahmed from Sanat Nagar, Srinagar who spent 11 years to build this car of his dreams. The mathematics teacher always loved studying cars and also the way they were manufactured. Inspired by a vehicle used in the popular English film “Back To The Future”, he decided to make one.

Wishing common people to enjoy the comfort of cars and keeping in mind the rising fuel prices, he decided to make his vehicle solar-powered. Speaking to Rising Kashmir he said: “Cars like Mercedes, Ferrari, BMW are just a dream for common people. Only a few people are able to afford it while it remains a dream for others to drive such cars and roam in them. I thought of something to give a luxurious feel to the people as well.”

The solar panels were obtained from Chennai and these can generate enough power even during low light. Explaining the reason, he said: “In Kashmir, most of the time, the weather is gloomy. I used solar panels which can give higher efficiency in low sunlight days.” The gullwing doors of the car are also equipped with solar panels while it has regenerative braking as well.

Social media users praised the car and some even tagged Anand Mahindra and Elon Musk.
