Reena, who returned a bag with Rs.7 lakh jewellery to its rightful owner was felicitated by police and her school

<strong>A 13-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s Raisen district, has set a stellar example for others to follow, including children. Reena, who is the daughter of a daily wage worker, found a bag on the road, which had jewellery worth Rs.7 lakhs which she handed over to the rightful owner.</strong></p>

This Class VI student and daughter of Mangal Singh, resident of Silari, was returning home from school last week when saw a bag lying unclaimed on Anaghora Road. On checking the contents, she found it had gold ornaments. She waited for some time at the spot but when no one turned to claim it, she took it home.</p>

When her father returned late at night, she informed him and the next day both of them reached out to Dr. M.L. Badkur of the Community Health Centre and they contacted the police at Udaipura.</p>

The police traced the owner of the bag, Yashpal, a resident of Kakarua. Parmar with his daughter, Ranjana had gone to attend a wedding and while returning the bag fell between Kakarua and Udaipura. Though later, he tried to search the bag but in vain. He had reported the matter to Udaipura police station.</p>

Elated at receiving the jewellery, Yashpal not only gave Reena Rs.51,000 but also new clothes. Udaipura Station House Officer, Prakash Sharma praised Reena for her honesty and presented her a cash prize of Rs 1,100. She was also felicitated in a function for her honesty.</p>

Reena was honoured at her school and her teacher Anil Raghuvanshi said her honesty had brought laurels to the institution. &ldquo;We are proud of her and our school which has inculcated such values in its students,&rdquo; he said.</p>
