Kohli, Gambhir fined 100% IPL match fee after ugly spat

Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants’ Team mentor Gautam Gambhir have been fined 100 per cent of their match fees after an ugly spat which was ruled as a breach in the Code of Conduct during the IPL match played between the two teams in Lucknow on Monday.

Kohli and Gambhir had a heated exchange after the match. The altercation took place as Kohli had celebrated the fall of LSG wickets with his usual aggressive gestures which provoked Gambhir.
RCB had bowled LSG out for 108 after scoring 126/9 in 20 overs to win the match. KL Rahul was batting with a leg injury and the end could not take his team past the RCB total.

After the match ended, Kohli and Gambhir shook hands and things looked fine. LSG opener Kyle Mayers walked up to Kohli and started saying something when Gambhir came and took Mayers away. A little while after this incident, visuals from the match showed Gautam Gambhir in a heated exchange with Virat Kohli. Other players, including KL Rahul, and support staff were seen separating the two. Kohli was then seen having a lengthy chat with LSG captain KL Rahul.
