A 14-year-old girl, Tajamul Islam, from north Kashmir&rsquo;s Bandipora&nbsp; district has won a gold medal in the under 14 age category after defeating Argentina&rsquo;s Lalina in the finals of the World Kickboxing Championship held at Cairo in Egypt.</p>

Tajamul had beaten her rival from France in the semi-finals.</p>
<p>
She was among the 30 players from India in various age categories. The championship started on October 18 and concluded on October 24.</p>
<p>
This is the Indian girl&rsquo;s second international gold medal as she had earlier won a gold at the World Kickboxing Championship held at Andria, Italy in 2016 as an eight- year-old.</p>
<p>
According to a report in Rising Kashmir, Tajamul is now looking forward to win an Olympic gold medal as well.</p>

&nbsp;&ldquo;I also want to become a doctor,&rdquo; she said.</p>
<p>
Tajamal is&nbsp; a&nbsp; brand ambassador for the government&rsquo;s Beti Bachao Beti Padao campaign.</p>

In her message to youngsters, she said, &ldquo;Work hard. Sooner or later it will pay off. Participate in sports and do not indulge in negative activities like drugs etc.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>
