India’s last shop in Uttarakhand serves hot tea just a few metres short of China border

The last shop in India which is close to the Chinese border is a tourist attraction

Having named the shop “Hindustan ki Antim Dukan", the tea outlet stands true to it. It is literally the last shop on the India-China border and located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand State.

The small cosy looking shop is located at about 3,118 metres is nestled in the scenic Himalayas and is a few metres away from the Chinese border.

The shop was set up by Chander Singh Badwal, 25 years ago and over the years became an attraction for the locals and the tourists as a tea stall which is true to its name. People visiting the shop love to eat Maggi and enjoy their tea, while being close to the China border.

It is believed that the village of Mana is connected to Mahabharata as it is said that the Pandavas started their ascension to heaven from here.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra sharing a picture of the shop in his Twitter wrote: "One of the best selfie spots in India? An unmatchable slogan: “Hindustan ki Antim Dukan.” A cup of tea there is priceless."
