The Indian badminton team scripted history on Sunday by winning the Thomas Cup for the first time after beating 14-time champions Indonesia 3-0 in the finals at Bangkok.

It was undoubtedly India's biggest moment in team badminton after reaching the final for the first time on Saturday with a sensational win against Denmark.

Lakshya Sen gave India a 1-0 lead after beating Anthony Ginting 8-21, 21-17, 21-16.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty then made it 2-0 as they clinched the second tie beating Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo 18-21, 23-21, 21-19.

Kidambi Srikanth completed the clean sweep by defeating Jonatan Christie 21-15, 23-21.

The government also announced a cash prize of Rs one crore for Team India for winning the Thomas Cup.
