Boxers Amit Panghal and Nitu Ganghas bagged gold medals for India in the men's flyweight and women's minimumweight categories, respectively. 

The good news came on a day when Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu sailed through her semi-final in straight games to reach the women's singles badminton final. 

Pugilists Amit Panghal, Nikhat Zareen and Sagar Ahlawat will also being going all out for gold when they step out to participate in their respective final bouts.

India also won the bronze medal in women's hockey after beating New Zealand in a penalty shootout on Sunday. Earlier, New Zealand had equalised the score with a mere 17 seconds to go for the final whistle which took match into a penalty shootout.

India will also take on Australia for gold in the women's cricket final.

India has won 40 medals so far in the ongoing Commonwealth Games which entered the 10th day.
