During one’s twilight years, there is a need for company and also someone to help in daily affairs. This is what Anvayaa Kin Care, a Hyderabad-based organisation provides to senior citizens.

The NGO was started by Prashanth Reddy, who earlier intended to settle abroad but gave that up to take care of his parents on realising that they needed him to take care of them in old age. This is what precisely inspired him to start this organisation.

Talking to New Indian Express, Reddy said: “When I was living away from my parents, touring the globe to climb the professional ladder, I began to understand that my parents would do so much better with me around. This dawned on me around the same time I became a permanent resident of Canada — but I felt it right to leave it all behind me to be here with my parents, especially because I was their only child and no one would care for them better.”

When he returned to help his parents, Reddy received calls from others abroad to take care of their parents’ needs. He did that and felt that much more needs to be done. “That’s when I did some research to find if there was a more professional, effective way of filling the gap and finally decided to create one — that’s how Anvayaa was born in 2016,” he explained.

The organisation Anvayaa provides all solutions concerning care of the elderly under one roof. This includes 24×7 medical help and assistance, taking the elderly to the market for shopping or temple, arranging for an electrician or plumber or carpenter to get things fixed at their home or payment of bills and banking work.

Sharing details, Reddy said: “Any help a senior citizen would probably need, we have it. We categorise them into health care, emergency care, leisure care and payment management, where we even take care of their bill payments so that their cash handling is minimised. We also have daily services that include everything needed for their daily living — just one call takes care of everything under our annual membership plans.”

At present Anvayaa is providing its services to the elderly in eight cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam, Pune and Kakinada and will be starting operations in three more soon.
