Hyderabad celebrates Azadi spirit with 75 new Freedom Parks

With the aim of increasing green areas in the city, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on the occasion of the Swantantra Bharata Vajrotsavam, being organised by the Telangana Government to celebrate India’s 75 years of Independence, has chosen 75 open spaces to develop Freedom Parks.

The 75 parks will be developed in six zones of the Corporation including 12 each in LB Nagar, Charminar, Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Secunderabad and 15 in Khairatabad.

In order to make these parks visually appealing and in tune with the celebration, the civic body has started planting saplings of different varieties and flower plants in Tricolour theme. Along with this, these green areas will have cascading waterfalls.
