As a run up to the start of the G20 meetings in India, the New Delhi Municipal Council is organising a food festival that will feature cuisines from the member countries of this grouping.
The two-day festival will start tomorrow (February 11) at Talkatora Stadium with the themes being “Taste the World” and “International Year of Millets”.
The event as per an NDMC official is expected to spread awareness about international cuisines as well as nutritional health and food preparation. Apart from the varied dishes and delicacies that will be offered, there will be food preparation workshops and live demonstration counters.
Visitors can learn about the food habits and items of these different countries as there will be several photographs and write-ups on the cuisines. A dedicated space has also been earmarked at the venue for the participating countries to present art and cultural programmes related to their respective countries.
NDMC has made requisite arrangements to space and stalls and other on-site logistic support to all the G20 member countries and guest countries, including electricity and water connection.
The members of G20 include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, United Kingdom and United States and the European Union.
The Capital will host nine major G20-related events this year with the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting slated for March 1 and 2.
