Fit India Movement to start online talk show on holistic health from Jan. 8

With the aim of keeping the citizens of the country healthy, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under its Fit India Movement will launch a special online series called “Fit India-Sunday Talks”.

The programme commenced to mark the New Year, will be an online talk show to be delivered by eminent fitness experts and Fit India icons. It will start from January 8 and will go on till February 26 on Fit India’s official Instagram and YouTube, every Sunday at 11 a.m.

A total of eight talks will be shown with the first one titled “Fit India Healthy Hindustan”. These Sunday Talks aim to promote the importance of fitness, healthy eating and mental wellness among all age groups, especially senior citizens.

The panellists who are part of the Fit India Healthy Hindustan include Luke Coutinho (Lifestyle Expert), Ryan Fernando, Heena Bhimani (Nutritionist) and Sangram Singh (Wrestler/Motivational Speaker).

Talking about this initiative, Singh said: “The Fit India Healthy Hindustan Programme is a commendable initiative of the government and everyone should join this campaign and take benefit from it. According to me, the richest and most complete person in life is the one whose body is healthy. Through these talks, I will share some basic natural methods which people can easily adopt to stay fit at all ages.”

Stressing on the importance of keeping fit especially among senior citizens to enable them to fight age-related disease, Bhimani observed: “Ageing is natural and cannot be prevented. But yes, with the right health strategies one can live a long, healthy and a happy life. Fit India healthy Hindustan aims to give tips to senior citizens so that they live a healthy life with dignity. Small lifestyle changes can have a big impact.”

Fernando the nutritionist who will be highlighting the importance of sleep in staying fit commented: “With the Fit India Movement, citizens now have access to various health-related resources and guidance, which has enabled them to make informed decisions about their health. The Fit India Healthy Hindustan series is an attempt to further empower citizens with the right advice.”

The programme will also have a segment in which experts will speak on the importance of millets to celebrate 2023 as the International Year of Millets.
