The competition organised in the Reserve Police Line of the Gonda saw a police constable eat 60 puris in one go. The name of this cop is Hrishikesh Rai, the chief constable of Provincial Armed Constabulary.

Bada Khana is organised on the night before the passing out parade of the recruits and is an old tradition in which recruits and employees share a meal together.

For those who enjoy food, the ones who eat the maximum number of puris are honoured.

Interestingly, Rai broke his earlier record of eating 51 puris. He received a cash prize of Rs 1,000. Many of those present revealed that during his younger days, Rai could eat 160 puris.

Taking to Twitter, the Gonda Police shared photos and videos from the Bada Kahan event.

Appreciating the effort made by the officers and staff in organising the event successfully, Mishra said such events should be organised regularly as they help spread cheer and laughter among the officials and recruits.
