Caught on Camera: Speeding car mows down pedestrians in Bengaluru, 1 killed, 3 injured

In a shocking accident, a speeding car ploughed through a group of pedestrians on a road in Bengaluru killing one of them and injuring three others on Friday morning.</p>

The tragic incident has been captured on CCTV footage.</p>
<p>
The driver of the Maruti Ignis car involved in the accident has been identified as Mukesh, a resident of Chennenahalli of Magadi Road. He is an assistant director in Sandalwood.</p>
<p>
Mukesh lost control of the vehicle as he was speeding through the market area.</p>
<p>
The deceased has been identified as Rudrappa, 28, a native of Shivamogga. He was working in the catering sector. The injured are his colleagues Shivaram, 23, and Sachin, 21. Shailendra,  the third person who was  Injured is a BSc student.</p>
<p>
Rudrappa was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he didn’t respond to treatment and breathed his last.</p>
<p>
Traffic police said the car was owned by Thimmaiah who was also seated in the vehicle along with Mukesh when the accident took place.</p>
<p>
The victims were walking on the road as cars were parked on the pavement.</p>
<p>
B R Ravikanthe Gowda, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic ) said they have been clearing vehicles parked on footpaths to make way for pedestrians.  But this has to be done jointly with the municipal authorities.</p>
