The traffic policeman, Siddeshwar Mali, was on duty in the afternoon as part of the security arrangements for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the city.
The car driver who was found to be under the influence of drugs has been arrested and charged with attempt to murder and under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a PTI report cited the local police as saying.
