Candidates caught with Bluetooth cheating devices in slippers in exam to select school teachers

A hi-tech method for cheating in the Rajasthan eligibility examination for selecting school teachers has come to the fore with some candidates caught with mobile phones and Bluetooth devices fitted into the hollow soles of their slippers.</p>
<p>
After the first person was caught cheating in Ajmer, other centres were alerted and similar Hawaii chappals fitted with Bluetooth devices were also found in Bikaner and Sikar.</p>
<p>
"The chappal is such it has an entire phone inside and a Bluetooth device. The candidate had a device inside his ear and someone from outside the exam hall was helping him cheat," police officer additional SP Ratan Lal Bhargav of the Rajasthan police .</p>

"We found one man with devices in his slippers for enabling him to cheat. We caught him at the beginning of the exam. We are finding out is other links and who all are involved. We immediately alerted other districts as well. In the next phase of the exam, nobody can go in with slippers, shoes or socks into the exam centre," Ajmer SP Jagdish Chandra Sharma told TV news channels.</p>
<p>
Mobile internet and SMS were blacked out in several districts of Rajasthan for 12 hours to prevent cheating in the exam. Around 16 lakh candidates took the REET exam for 31,000 posts in government schools.</p>
