The South Korean music group sensation BTS has proved repeatedly that they are not just popular in their country but world over. Their recent video featuring them performing one of their greatest hit singles, “Permission to Dance”, at the United Nations headquarters garnered more than 12 million views on Youtube.

The clip has become the most viewed on the UN Channel.

The superband BTS which includes Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Monday (September 20) and praised the world's young people for welcoming the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Referring to the pandemic, group member Jin said: "Rather than calling this corona generation a 'lost generation,' the term 'welcome generation' is more suitable. We will be a generation that welcomes change.”

Their live speech talked about climate change, digital community, vaccines and the power of youth to change the future.

At the close of their address, the band played a video of the septet performing "Permission to Dance," in and outside the U.N. headquarters. The video clip sees the members appearing one by one in the same hall where they gave the speech and together dance out into the open air.

The video was shot very aesthetically as with Manhattan's towering skyscrapers forming the background, the group breaks into their perfectly synchronized dance moves. Then they are joined by a huge crowd of people, all belonging to different nations, to perform the sign language used in the song.

This is the third year the K-pop sensation has addressed the U.N. General Assembly and this particular appearance is most prominent.
