Sen has stated in her complaint that she met the accused, Ronak Jatin Vyas, a Goregaon resident at a gym in Andheri three years ago, and the two became friends over a period of time.

She has informed the police that Vyas claimed to be a businessman and had opened a new company of LED lights. He then got Sen to invest in his company with a promise of a hefty 40 per cent return and signed an agreement with her.

When the deadline of the investment ended, Sen asked for her profit, but Vyas started ignoring her phone calls. She then found out that he did not start the business at all. After realising that she had been cheated, Sen filed a complaint with the police.

After investigation, the Khar police have registered a case against Vyas under various sections of the IPC, including 406 – Punishment for criminal breach of trust and 420 – Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property. A search is on to track him down.
