Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez disguises herself as a lawyer to dodge media at Delhi court

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez was today granted interim bail by Delhi’s Patiala House Court in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar who showered her with expensive gifts.

Jacqueline sneaked into the court wearing a white shirt and black trousers to look pass off as lawyer as she tried to dodge the media in Delhi.

The Enforcement Directorate had filed a supplementary charge sheet before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act court naming her as an accused. The next date of hearing is October 22 this year.

The actor has earlier been summoned twice for questioning by Delhi Police for her alleged role in the case. She has been accused of accepting gifts worth crores such as luxury cars from Sukesh which were bought with the proceeds of crime being investigated in the money laundering case. Norah Fateh, is another Bollywood actor, who is being investigated in the case.

She has also been summoned by ED several times in the matter for investigation.

Meanwhile, a lawyer who appeared for Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) which is also investigating the case informed the court that Jacqueline Fernandez refused to appear for police questioning on August 29 and they have issued a fresh summons to her to join the investigation. The actor’s lawyer gave the assurance that she will join the investigation and co-operate in the investigation.

Last week, Ms Fernandez’s stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi was also questioned by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police in the case. Leepakshi admitted that she knew about the relationship shared by Jacqueline Fernandez and Sukesh Chandrashekhar, according to a police official. The conman had consulted Leepakshi Ellawadi on the brands of clothes that Jacqueline liked.

Chandrashekhar, who is currently in jail, is accused of cheating affluent people such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh.
