Bharat Parv showcasing Indian cuisine and culture to kick-start at Red Fort on Republic Day

Bharat Parv, the six-day mega event organised by the Union Ministry of Tourism will begin from tomorrow, January 26, in the Capital, at the lawns and Gyan Path in front of Red Fort.

This event which will go on till January 31 is part of the Republic Day celebrations.

The festival will showcase the best of the Republic Day Parade tableaux, performances by cultural troupes from different States and Union Territories. Apart from this there will be stalls of different State Governments, handloom weavers, Khadi and Village Industries Commission and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Federation of India.

There will be a food court where regional delicacies and cuisine from across the country will be offered and there will be food demonstrations with focus on millets.

Apart from choreographed performances by Zonal Cultural Centres, there will be performances by tribal and folk dancers, and special performances.

To make the event interactive there will be an activity zone where quizzes and painting competitions will be held and nukkad nataks enacted.

Earlier the Bharat Parv was held from 2016 to 2020 and in 2021 it was held virtually. This edition, which is a physical event, is being held after a gap of two years and will include illumination of Red Fort, branding and promotion of Dekho Apna Desh, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, G20 and Mission LIFE.

Tomorrow the event will start at 5.30 p.m. and will be open to the public till 10 p.m. and on the remaining days it will start at 12 noon and go on till 10 p.m.
