Bengaluru’s food delivery man on crutches touches hearts with his sincerity

Krishnappa Rathod the delivery executive in Benguluru who despite his physical condition works hard and cheerfully

It pays to be patient, charitable and react only after understanding a situation. This is the takeaway from an incident narrated by Bengaluru resident Rohit Kumar Singh about a delivery executive Krishnappa Rathod.

The story posted on LinkedIn starts when Singh placed an order on Swiggy which was getting “delayed and delayed” forcing him to ask the delivery person as to when he will arrive.

Rathod in a very comforting manner assured him that he will be there soon. When that did not happen in the next few moments, Singh dialled again and was told that the food will be delivered in the next five minutes.

The doorbell finally rang, and Singh who by now was impatient, rushed and was all set to express his disappointment. Yet after what he saw, he didn’t. He wrote that he was left “feeling stupid”.

The person at the door was a man in his 40s with “grey hair, trying to balance himself with crutches". Describing the scene Singh wrote: "In my head, I was wondering what all the struggle he had to go through to get this order to me. I immediately apologized to him and tried to have a conversation.”

Having lost his job in a café during the Covid-19 pandemic, Rathod has been working as a delivery executive, a job he does with grace and sincerity. Starting his day early, he works tirelessly throughout the day without any complaint about his condition.

On reading this heart-warming, many offered to help Rathod while others praised him for his courage and called him inspiring.
