The two-month-old baby who was miraculously pulled out alive from the rubble after more than 128 hours of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey in February has been finally reunited with its mother.
It was thought at the time that the baby’s mother had died in the earthquake but she has now been found to be alive. The mother had been taken to another hospital for treatment of serious injuries suffered in the earthquake.
Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, posted photos of the baby and shared the good news. The baby’s mother was apparently treated in a different hospital and after 54 days apart and a DNA test, they are together again, according to a local Turkish news website.
