Baba Sehgal’s desi version of Boney M’s ‘Rasputin’ is an anthem against Covid-19

<strong>Known for his musical talent and inventiveness, the popular Indian rapper, Baba Sehgal, who is credited to be the world’s Hindi rap star, has used his creativity well in encouraging people to be cautious and fight against the surging Covid-19 pandemic.</strong></p>

In his earnest attempt to motivate the country hit by the second wave of Coronavirus, Baba Sehgal has come up with a new video in which he sings his personalised Hindi version of Boney M’s international hit of yesteryears, Rasputin song. The video has been trending on the digital medium for quite some time.</p>

In the video clip gone viral on social media now, Baba Sehgal sings his new Protein song that is meant for raising awareness about the deadly Coronavirus.</p>

The 2.43 minute duration video went viral on the Internet after Sehgal posted it on Twitter with a caption that reads, “Boney M sang Rasputin, Baba Sehgal sings Protein.”</p>

Sehgal also posted the complete video of the Rasputin cover song on his YouTube channel. In description he wrote, “This is a Fantastic track, a cover of Boney M – Rasputin. I have recreated it into a Hindi cover titled Protein and it’s an out and out Covid Awareness Song.”</p>

Going beyond creating awareness, he hoped that the video will cheer people. “The second wave of Corona has almost put the entire country on Lockdown. I hope I am able to put a smile on your faces under these stressful times.”</p>

Both his tweet and YouTube video got views in thousands. Keeping in tune with the original music of this peppy number of Boney M, Sehgal can be heard singing and rapping about the importance of following Covid protocols, like maintaining social distance, wearing face masks and washing hands. Further, he stresses that breaking the chain is in our hands.</p>

Sehgal further asks people to avoid being careless in the current situation, regularly wash hands with soap, gargle, steam, eat healthy and if possible take doctor’s advice.</p>
