A police inspector and two forest department officials were injured during an operation to catch a leopard at Behrampur village in the Panipat district of Haryana. .

The leopard was later successfully tranquilised and captured on Saturday.
The team was acting on a message from villagers who had spotted the leopard.
The three officials who sustained injuries were identified as Sanouli station house officer Jagjit Singh, Panipat forest department ranger Virender Gahlyan and the forest department’s veterinary surgeon Ashok Khasa. SHO Jagjit and Virender Gahlyan were admitted to the hospital and their condition is stable, an official said.
Panipat Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan shared a video on social media appreciating the bravery and courage of the team.
