Setting an exemplary example of service and duty, Sub-Inspector Krishna Pavani of Andhra Pradesh helped to carry the dead body of an old man in a forest with sun blazing down on her.
The incident took place at the Hazipuram forest area which comes under the Hanmanthunipet Mandal in the district Prakasam. As there was no one to carry the body of this man through the forest, for post-mortem in Kanigiri, Pavani immediately volunteered and did so without thinking twice.
Pavani had arrived in the forest area when the police had been informed about the dead body by the public. As the body of the 65-year-old which had already started decomposing had to be rushed for post-mortem and then cremation, it was wrapped in a mat and hung from a wooden log for carrying it across the forest.
The image of the SI has been posted by Prakasam Police on their Twitter praising their SI’s effort.
