100 acres Green corridor – Oxyvan – inaugurated in Panchkula

<strong>With the idea of checking and curbing air pollution Haryana has inaugurated the work of Oxyvan scheme. Under this a green corridor will be created on an area of 100 acres in Panchkula.</strong></p>
<p>
Inaugurating this corridor, the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker who is an MLA from Panchkula, Gian Chand Gupta planted a Panchavati sapling at Oxyvan in Beed Ghaggar. The officials intend to plant 5,500 trees, herbs and vines in an area of seven acres in the first phase of the initiative.</p>
<p>
The Oxyvan will be developed along the Ghaggar river and it will include a cycle track as well as a jogger’s track for the convenience and recreation of the people.</p>

Gupta also told the media that a Government medical college will also come up in an area of three acres in the region.</p>

The Speaker instructed the District Education Officer to use vacant areas in Panchkula schools for planting saplings and asked the officials to inspire the students to do the same around their homes. He also unveiled a booklet of saplings, flagged off a vehicle for distribution of free saplings and distributed certificates to forest department employees.</p>
<p>
Gupta pointed out that 43 per cent area of Panchkula is under forest cover which is more than the state and national average.</p>
