The poliovirus has infected one more, a 15-month-old girl in Pishin District. According to the health department, there are 18 active cases in Balochistan.

Another child, a 34-month-old, was reportedly a few days ago in Union Council Alizai.

The 15-month-old girl’s parents didn’t allow their child to get vaccinated.

Pakistan has reported 68 polio cases in 2020. The number was 147 in 2019.

Vaccination was suspended for five months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

This has led to a spurt in the polio cases.
