The largest open-air trade fair in Odisha, the Baliyatra held in Cuttack, has created a record by making 22,000 paper boats in just 35 minutes. This achievement got them a place in the Guinness World Records.

In this feat, more than 2,100 students of 22 schools were involved and they made the paper boats at an event organised at Barabati Stadium by the district administration and Cuttack Municipal Corporation on Tuesday.

The objective of this initiative was to get global recognition for Cuttack’s Baliyatra, an event which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned while addressing the Indian Community Meet at Bali, Indonesia during his recent visit to the country for the G20 meet.
