Several people were stabbed in Birmingham city center today morning, which the West Midlands Police has called a "major incident".
The police were called after a number of stabbings were reported early morning on Sunday. The police said there were "a number of injured people" and have asked people to stay away from the area.
The police has not said how many people were injured or how serious the people are. If the police describe an event as "major incident" it means that the situation is serious which can cause harm to the public. The police has also pressed all of the emergency services to work together in the area.
The police has also asked people to stay away from the area till further notice. The police has been posting updates on its Twitter handle, @WMPolice.
One of the last updates said: "We can confirm that at approximately 12:30am today we were called to reports of a stabbing in #Birmingham city centre. We immediately attended, along with colleagues from the ambulance service. A number of other stabbings were reported in the area shortly after.".
