CCTV footage of the incident shows the car swerving wildly as speeds out of the underground parking. The car then hits a security guard at the gate, dragging him along with a police officer in hot pursuit.
Another clip, shows the security guard being flung to the ground with the impact as other security guards and the police officer start encircling the car. The vehicle then speeds away.
The police had been looking for Neeraj Singh, a general manager with a private company, in a case filed by a colleague who accused him of raping her. Singh had gone missing since the case was filed, said a police officer.
On Tuesday evening, police got information that Singh was at his home in Sector 120’s Amrapali Zodiac society. Singh appears to have seen the police arriving and decided to flee.
The security guard, Ashok Mavi, sustained serious injuries on his shoulder and legs.
