Keeping in mind the importance of the health of children and newborn babies, the Ministry of Ayush has set up a vaccination centre for them at New Delhi’s All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA).
The centre was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal who also launched the Bal Rasha mobile app at the same event.
This mobile app aims to create awareness of paediatric preventive healthcare through Ayurveda intervention amongst parents. Going beyond awareness, the app will also collect feedback from parents about the impact of the kit on their children's health and immunity.
On this occasion, the Minister also paid tributes to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who served as the head of the department of Shalya Tantra Department of AIIA and died due to Covid in 2020.
Sonowal also addressed students at the Institute and shared with them insights on how Ayurveda has now gained global acceptance and what it means for students pursuing Ayurveda studies.
Others who were present on the occasion were Dr. Tanuja Manoj Nesari, Director of AIIA, and other members of the faculty.
An autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayush, AIIA aims to bring about a synergy between the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda and modern tools and technology. AIIA has 12 specialty departments, 30 OPD units with state-of-the-art inter-disciplinary research laboratories and an international collaborative centre for global promotion and research in Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is the oldest system of medicine and health science dating back to more than 3,000 years.
