Russia's new chain of fast-food outlets, which will replace McDonald's in the country, has revealed its new logo just before it reopens restaurants this weekend.

"The green background of the logo symbolises the quality of products and service that our guests are accustomed to," a Sistema PBO spokesperson told Russian state-owned news agency TASS.

After suspending operations in its 850 restaurants across the country on March 14, the multinational giant had announced on May 16 that it is quitting Russia completely over Russia's ongoing military operation in neighbouring Ukraine.

On May 19, Alexander Govor, the Siberian partner of the company, took over the business.

While the new Russian fast food chain replacing McDonald's has not revealed its name yet, the logo – two sticks of yellow fried potatoes and a yellow orange burger – was made public on Thursday.

According to Russian daily Izvestia, as many as eight names are under consideration including Tot Samyi (The Same One) and Svobodnaya Kassa (Free cash desk).

The first 15 of the new outlets open in the Russian capital and surrounding region on June 12.
