A Swiggy delivery boy was the only one to rise to the occasion in rushing a retired colonel of the Indian Army to hospital and saving his life.  All the others had ignored the veteran soldier’s pleas while he was stuck in a bad traffic jam in Mumbai.

Colonel (retd.) Man Mohan Malik has recovered after spending several days in hospital, and has now expressed his gratitude to the “unsung hero” for saving his life and enabling him to come back to his family.

As Malik fell seriously ill on Christmas Day, his son was driving him to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai but the car got stuck in a traffic snarl due to the festive rush.

“My son frantically pleaded for help and requested two-wheeler riders for help as they could navigate through the traffic faster and get me to the hospital. But passers-by did not stop,” the retired army officer recalled in an Instagram post shared by online food delivery platform Swiggy.

However, Swiggy delivery boy Mrunal Kirdat turned out to the Good Samaritan as he readily offered to help and rushed the ailing veteran to hospital on his motorcycle. He had the confidence and presence of mind to make the emergency situation clear as he asked the others to clear the way for him.
