Delhi turns cold and wet

Delhi witnessed light rain and shallow fog this morning as northern India continued to be in the grip of cold wave

As the cold wave continues to grip the northern states of the country, Delhi witnessed light rain and shallow fog this morning that brought the minimum temperature down to 10.0 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has forecast rainfall for the next two days in the national capital region. "Isolated to scattered rainfall is very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh and east Rajasthan on January 20 and 21 and increase thereafter with fairly widespread to widespread rainfall on 22 and 23 January," the IMD said in its bulletin on Friday.

There was heavy fog in the city on Friday, that caused visibility levels to drop to 200 metres, Delhi had recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius.
