Over two crore children in the 15-18 age group have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in less than a week since the vaccination drive for them started on Jan 3, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Saturday.

"Great Going, my Young Friends. Over 2 crore youngsters between the 15-18 age group have received their first dose of COVID19 vaccine in less than a week of vaccination drive for children," Union Health Minister said while noting that the drive has been progressing rapidly.

With the administration of more than 90 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 150.61 crores till 7 am on Saturday.

So far, 90 per cent of the country’s entire adult population has been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine dose while over 65% has received both doses.
