Video: PM Modi at COP26 Summit – Johnson accepts invite, to visit India soon

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson on Monday evening reviewed the implementation of the Roadmap 2030 priorities particularly in the trade and economy, people-to-people, health, defence and security areas.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the COP26 World Leaders Summit in Glasgow as discussed various issues, as agreed in the India-UK Roadmap 2030 for future relations adopted at the Virtual Summit between the two PMs in May 2021.

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla later said that Johnson has also accepted PM Modi's invitation to India saying that he would plan his visit as soon as the circumstances allow.

Both leaders also discussed regional and global challenges including Afghanistan, counter-terrorism, Indo-Pacific, supply chain resilience and post-Covid global economic recovery.

Shringla also detailed PM's other meetings and his statement at the Summit where Modi mentioned how one word – Life, lifestyle for environment today – can become the basic foundation of one world for climate change issue.
