The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided a massive sea-facing bungalow on the outskirts of Chennai on Monday and seized over a dozen luxury cars, cash and laptops as part of the investigations into conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s rackets.
The luxury cars seized from the premises include Lamborghini, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Bentley, Mercedese, BMW and Land Rover models. The sprawling bungalow with a beach front is itself valued at over Rs 10 crore.
Lodged at Delhi's Rohini jail as an under trial, Sukesh Chandrashekhar has over 20 cases of extortion against him, including Rs 200 crore from a businessman over a period of one year.
The ED also raided the residence of the conman’s associate, Leena Maria Paul, an actress who has worked in several Malayalam movies. She was also part of the cast in John Abraham-starrer Madras Cafe.
An official who was part of the raid told India Today, "Versace rugs lay on the floors fitted with Italian marbles. Sculptures worth crores were installed in the house. The bungalow also has a movie theatre and a huge swimming pool.
