Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, once again got involved in the war of words. No, it is not Pakistan and Afghanistan. The recent round involves Imran Khan, his rival PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif and his ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith.

On Tuesday, Khan’s former wife Jemima took twitter by storm, taking pot shots at Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and the vice president of  PML-N, Maryam Sharif Nawaz.

She said in her post:

“My kids are ‘being raised in the lap of the Jews,’ announced⁦ @MaryamNSharif⁩ today. I left Pakistan in 2004 after a decade of antisemitic attacks by the media & politicians (& weekly death threats & protests outside my house). But still it continues.”

Maryam retaliated immediately by saying:  “I have absolutely no interest in you, your sons or your personal lives because I have better things to do and say but if your ex drags in families of others out of spite, others will have nastier things to say. You have only your ex to blame.”

The whole episode started when Imran Khan, in his speech in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), criticised the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is in self exile in London.

"The poor should go to jail and the powerful get NROs (National Reconciliation Ordinance) and go park themselves abroad and watch their grandson’s polo match," Pakistani daily reported him saying.

Khan further added:  “This grandson who is playing polo in Britain […] I’ve met so many Kashmiris in London and Manchester, ask them what kind of person can play polo there." "They will tell you it's a king's sport!.. You need a lot of money to keep a horse and play polo. So tell us where this dear grandson got this money from. It's your [the people's] money!" he told the jeering crowd.

Next day, it was Maryam Nawaz’s turn.

“Junaid (her son) is now the polo team captain and is increasing Pakistan’s respect abroad. Imran says that grandson is going abroad and playing polo, he doesn’t even spare children, he says, where did he get the money to play polo,” a fuming Maryam, told Khan.  “I didn’t want to bring children into it, but the way you’re talking, you’re going to get a befitting reply. ” “He is Nawaz Sharif’s grandson, not Goldsmith’s,  he’s not being raised in the lap of Jews," the daily reported.

Imran Khan, the playboy turned politician has always been in controversy because of his unwarranted comments. Last month he drew flak when the Prime Minister said in an interview : “If a woman is wearing very few clothes it will have an impact on the man unless they are robots. It’s common sense.”
