From the Line of Control (LoC) in the north to the Indo-Bangladesh border in the east, the Indian armed forces exchanged sweets and celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with their counterparts from Pakistan and Bangladesh on Friday. The Indian soldiers also celebrated the festival with the locals in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, distributing gifts to the residents in towns and remote villages as the festivities remain low key due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Faraway from Kashmir, in Assam, the Border Security Force (BSF) troops exchanged sweets, dry fruits and best wishes with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on the occasion of Eid.
Yesterday, the Indian Army had exchanged Eid gifts with Pakistani soldiers at the Tithwal crossing on Kishanganga River in Kupwara's Tangdhar and the Kaman Aman Setu in Uri.
Irrespective of the tensions at the LoC, the Indian army has continued to exchange pleasantaries and gifts with their Pakistani counterparts on Eid for decades now.
