Registration for the third phase of vaccination against Covid-19 for those between the age groups of 18 and 45 years will begin from April 28 on the cowin.gov.in app, the government said on Thursday through its citizen engagement platform @MyGovIndia.

The government has already announced that the inoculation drive for all adults will start from May 1.

Apart from Serum Institute of India's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin, Russia's Sputnik has also been cleared for use in the country.  US pharma major Johnson & Johnson has applied for approval of its single-shot vaccine under the new fast-track rules.

Adar Poonawalla-led Serum Institute of India had said on Wednesday that  its vaccine would be priced at Rs 400 per dose for state governments and at Rs 600 for private hospitals.

The price for the Centre would remain the same at Rs 150 per shot that it is being currently supplied.

Each person has to go in for two doses of the vaccine. The second dose of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin should be taken between 28 days to 42 days after the first dose while the second shot of Serum Institute’s Covishield should be taken between 28 days to 56 days after the first dose.
