India attends the G-7 Sherpa meeting

Suresh Prabhu, India's Sherpa to G-20 and G-7 countries, attended the second virtual meeting of the G-7 Sherpas group.

The G-7 is an intergovernmental organisation of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The meeting discussed issues to be taken up during this year's UK meeting, including preparations for the COP26 Summit and global health cooperation.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, said: "Second meeting of the Sherpas of #G7 & Guest countries held today. Shri Suresh Prabhu, India's #G7 Sherpa, attended the meeting. Key priority issues under UK`s #G7 Presidency agenda discussed, including preparations for the COP26 Summit and global health cooperation."

The UK is hosting the G-7 meeting at Cornwall this June. India has been invited as a guest to the G7 meeting by the UK along with Australia, South Korea and South Africa.
