Luxury cruise on Ayodhya’s Saryu River to start as Ram Temple takes shape

Devotees and tourists to Ayodhya Ram Temple can tour the place on a cruise ship and also houseboats

While people are excited about completion of the first phase of construction of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple by December 30 this year, the Uttar Pradesh Government is gearing up to make the visit of devotees and tourists from India and abroad more engaging and comfortable.

The State Government has launched a project to provide luxury river cruise and houseboat services on the Saryu River in Ayodhya. The cruise will be for a two-hour duration which will commence from Guptar Ghat and end at Naya Ghat.

During this journey, Raj Ghat, Laxman Ghat, Ram Ghat and Janki Ghat will be covered. While watching these places, the visitors will be made aware of Ayodhya’s history and the Ramayana. The officials also revealed that during the journey a short story on Lord Ram will be presented along with a brief narrative on other mythologies.

Apart from this, visitors will be offered food during the cruise and they will be entertained with folk dances and songs.

Sharing details about this cruise with the media, Rahul Sharma, Managing Director of Alchemy Group which is handling this project said clearances from different departments have been obtained and land to construct a platform and a boarding area at Ram Ki Pauri has been allotted. This structure will have a waiting area, lounge and food court among other facilities.

The cruise will have the capacity of ferrying 150 passengers.

He also informed that the cruise will be named after Pushpak Viman which finds reference in Ramayana while the houseboats will be christened as Kanak Mahal.

The cruise service will take place four times a day and in the first round breakfast will be provided, in the second there will be lunch, high tea in the third and dinner in the fourth.
